Yoichi Watanabe, one of the world’s premiere taiko instructors, has taught over 50 groups throughout Japan and has received highest honors as a Certified Taiko Instructor by the Nippon Taiko Foundation. Watanabe Sensei has trained 7 national taiko contest champions over the past 7 years, a feat that requires not only first-class tutelage, but fantastic composition as well. In recognition of Watanabe Sensei’s accomplishments, the Agency of Cultural Affairs appointed him a Special Advisor for Cultural Exchange. Watanabe Sensei continues to be a global leader, both as a player and as an instructor.
